London Olympics 2012 Archery: Schedule & Dates
Countdown has begun for one of the most awaited games of the world, the London Olympics 2012. Officially known as the XXX Olympiad, the game is scheduled to take place from 27th July to 12th August, 2012 in London. London would be organizing 26 different sports including Athletics, Football, Tennis, Hockey, Archery, Swimming, etc. and 19 Paralympic sports in the Olympics game. Around 205 nations will participate in various sports events and around 147 nations will participate in Paralympic games. More than 31 venues have been arranged to host these events. It is expected that each day more than 3, 50,000 spectators will turn up to enjoy different events.
Archery is one of the main sports events of the Olympics. An Archery participant, typically known as “bowman” or “archer” must have incredible skill of propelling and aiming arrows with the help of a bow. This interesting sport is being practiced in more than 140 countries all around the world. Around 128 participants are taking part in Archery category, among which 64 are men while remaining 64 are women participants.
